Chinese barbecued pork spare ribs
By Cookin in category: China
I hope you enjoy this classic Chinese favourite. It’s quick and simple to prepare, and finger-licking good. It’s a great way to prepare something special from a cheaper cut of meat too.
If you’ve got a lidded barbecue, you can also roast them in that, instead of the kitchen oven, which is great for having friends over.
Ingredients:
1 kg pork spare ribs
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon oil
1/4 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Procedure:
Place the ribs into a baking dish.
Combine the remaining ingredients and pour them over the pork, then roast in a moderately hot oven for 20 minutes.
Reduce to moderate heat and roast for a further 20 minutes or until tender, basting several times during cooking.
